Garden Crossing
Selected intersections around the UH campus were analyzed for site conditions and opportunities for improvements. What was found was heavy traffic during mornings and afternoons due to vehicles and pedestrians. The area also lacked a connection between the spaces divided by the streets and a pedestrian gathering area. The solution was to create a pedestrian garden crossing. The crossing would be a comfortable and a leisure way for pedestrians to get to campus. It helps to alleviate traffic conditions and brings an iconic look to one of the main entrances to the campus. In creating the bridge and the surrounding spaces, it helps to create a more cohesive feel to the intersection between the campus and neighborhood. |
